2008 Winner of the Morley Gunderson Prize in Industrial Relations

Tracey Mill

Tracey Mill photoTracey Mill received her MIR from the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources in 1993. Following her graduation, Tracey has gone on to a very impressive career in the Ontario Public Service. Currently, Tracey is Director of the Employment Practices Branch within the Ministry of Labour. She has previously worked as Director of the LHIN Project with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and Director of the Employment and Labour Policy Branch at MOL. Throughout her career Tracey has led numerous policy and legislation development initiatives: her policy teams have been responsible for the introduction and passage of more than 15 pieces of legislation including the first major re-write of Employment Standards legislation in 25 years.

Tracey was the Ontario and Canadian representative to the International Labour Organization subcommittee on automotive labour issues in Geneva and she has represented the Ontario government in negotiations with Quebec and other provinces on labour mobility issues. Recently her team won an Outstanding Achievement Award for the development of legislation to transform the health system and establish local health integration networks. Tracey is also a recipient of the OPS Amethyst Award for Excellence in Client Services.
