2-Year MIRHR Program

Full-time students who are eligible for admission may complete the program in two years (16 non-consecutive months).

First Year

Eight half-courses (or equivalent) are necessary to complete first year.  Seven are required courses that provide a foundation for further study.

IRE 1002H Applied Statistics in Industrial Relations
IRE 1010H Economic Environment of IR & HR
IRE 1126H Labour Market Policy (PR)
IRE 1362H Organizational Behaviour
IRE 1609H Strategic Human Resources Management
IRE 1610H Industrial Relations
Plus one of the following law courses:
IRE 1270H Law of Labour Relations
IRE 1338H Law in the Workplace

One elective course is chosen to fill the requisite eight half-courses (or equivalent). Courses marked (PR) require prerequisites and further information is available from the Centre.

Second Year

Eight half-courses (or equivalent) are necessary to complete second year.  This includes the core courses in Industrial Relations and Human Resources below plus five elective courses (or equivalent):

IRE 2001H Foundations and Current Issues in Industrial Relations and Human Resources (PR)
IRE 2002H Research Methods in Industrial Relations and Human Resources (PR)
Plus one of the following courses:
IRE 2003H Research Project in IR/HR
IRE 2004H Data Analytics and Metrics
