The "OSOTF awards" refer
to a class of awards that were established following a
very successful fundraising drive in 1997. Endowments
in excess of $1 million were created at the Centre.
The value of OSOTF awards is based on the annual income earned by the endowment, and the amounts specified represent an estimated value. The amounts may change at the time of payment.
For a list of awards and values, consult
the Internal Awards
section of this website.
Eligibility Requirements
OSOTF awards are restricted to students
who demonstrate financial need, according to the provincial
government's guidelines on the OSOTF program.
For the purpose of OSOTF awards, an
Ontario resident is either a Canadian citizen or a permanent
resident of Canada who has an Ontario mailing address
at the time the award is made.
In addition to the financial and residence
requirements, there may be other selection criteria for
the OSOTF awards. For example, the Lynn R. Williams Graduate
Award that was established by the United Steelworkers
of America, indicates preference will be given to a candidate
who is interested in working on issues of workplace fairness
and social justice. The CIBC Research Scholarships in
Youth Employment are available to students who are interested
in conducting research on youth-related issues.
