National Assembly on Workplace Democracy Regional Forum - University of British Columbia
When and Where
Description
Register Now for an event dedicated to advancing workplace democracy, amplifying workers’ voices, and fostering a national dialogue on practices and institutions that promote greater employee participation in workplace decision-making.
In October 2024, the National Assembly on Workplace Democracy (NAWD) came together to discuss worker voice (one’s ability to influence decision-making at work), deliberate together, and reach consensus recommendations for researchers, employers, and policymakers to consider in order to help amplify and improve worker voice in Canadian workplaces.
In our third regional forum, Professor and CIRHR Director Rafael Gomez will discuss the Assembly process and worker voice; what was gleaned from our provincial and national assemblies; and the findings of our post-survey regarding the assembly’s impact on the participants’ personal wellbeing. The session will also include a panel discussion with key stakeholders and assembly members as well as an audience Q&A with a reception to follow.
The National Assembly on Workplace Democracy Final Report, which speaks directly to what can be done to legislate, regulate, or otherwise activate protections for workers and enable stronger worker voice in Canada, can be found on the NAWD official website.
This event is delivered in coordination with, and with the support of, the University of British Columbia.
