2014 Winner of the Morley Gunderson Prize in Industrial Relations

Rajesh Uttamchandani

Rajesh Uttamchandani is a consultant at Deloitte Human Capital Consulting where he advises Boards of Directors, CEOs and executives on all aspects of increasing business performance and value. Prior to joining Deloitte, he was the Global Head of Human Resources for World Markets, Corporate Risk and Corporate Development at CIBC and Senior Vice President for Human Resources and Corporate Affairs at CIBC Mellon. Previously, Rajesh has held other Human Resources leadership roles in the financial services, health care, retail and technology sectors.

His volunteer and community activities include advising the Board of Directors for the Vanier Institute of the Family in Ottawa. He is also an adjunct Professor at the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the University of Toronto, is an appointee to the CIRHR Advisory Committee and has been running the MIR/HR Alumni Association for over 10 years.

Rajesh holds a B.Sc. and Master of Industrial Relations from the University of Toronto, he has studied International Organizational Design at the London School of Economics, he holds an MBA from the University of Honolulu, and both a J.D. and LL.M. in Employment and Labour law from Osgoode Hall Law School. He is a lawyer and member of the Bar of Ontario.
