Meghan Scott is among the CIRHR's newest cohort of graduates, earning both her undergraduate degree and Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources degree at the University of Toronto. Meghan currently works in the leadership advisory space, supporting various mandates to enhance leadership effectiveness, elevate talent strategy, and strengthen organizational performance.

We asked Meghan about her Centre experience, her aspirations upon graduation, and what the future holds for her. This is what she had to say:

"I would encapsulate my experience at the Centre as a journey fuelled by intellectual exploration and community. I am fascinated by the world of work and human resource management - particularly the systems, relationships, and ideas that shape how people experience and engage with workplaces. The MIRHR program provided me with the opportunity to deepen my knowledge by engaging with foundational theories, learning rigourous methodological techniques, and applying analytical tools that bridge research and practice. But what truly brought my MIRHR experience to life were the people; the world-class professors who challenge you to think critically, the dedicated staff who create an environment to support your growth, and the peers who turn learning into genuine collaboration and friendship. It’s rare to find a community so deeply engaged in understanding the complexities of work, and being part of that community has been both intellectually energizing and personally meaningful.

"Now that I have graduated, I am excited to continue applying the knowledge and skills I’ve developed to support clients and organizations in meaningful ways. Completing my Master’s part-time has given me the opportunity to do this in practice already, and I look forward to building on my experience and continuing to grow professionally.

"Looking ahead, the future feels full of possibility. I hope to remain connected to the world of academia, driven by my genuine interest in continual learning. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a field that I care deeply about and love working in - one that sparks new curiosities, offers opportunities to make a meaningful impact, and constantly challenges me to think critically about how people and organizations can thrive. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the leadership and HR landscape."
