Congratulations to Monica Krane (Fenech), our Spring 2025 recipient of the Frank Reid Prize which is presented each convocation to the top graduating MIRHR student or students! We asked Monica to reflect on her CIRHR experience, her aspirations upon graduation, and what the future holds for her. This is what she had to say:
"As someone who is passionate about learning, I came into the MIRHR program to elevate my knowledge of human resources and apply it to the workplace. While I also intended for the MIRHR program to be an opportunity to deepen my professional network, I came away with so much more. Along my academic journey, I formed strong friendships with other students in the program. My journey would not be the same without their support and warmth. I was also deeply impressed by the professors of the program. I would live to give special thanks to professors Dr. Brad Seward, Alexander Brat, Michael Fitzgibbon, Frank Reid and Bob Thompson. Not only were they deeply knowledgeable about their subject matter expertise, but they were so kind, supportive and accessible for questions and further discussion.
"As for what the future holds for me, I don’t think my journey in academia is over yet. I have a strong passion for the human resources field and genuinely love instructing and facilitating learning. While I’m continuing to build my career as an HR leader, I hope to one day leverage my master’s degree and professional experience to become a professor of HR. It would be incredibly meaningful to impact students the same way my instructors at the Centre have inspired and shaped me."
