True Blue Award: CIRHR Communications Coordinator Cate MacLeod

October 30, 2020 by CIRHR Communications

Over the summer, many U of T employees received True Blue Awards. While U of T HR & Equity could only highlight a few of those selected for the award, we at the CIRHR would like to share that our own communications coordinator, Cate MacLeod, was among those who recieved the award.

U of T employees who recieve True Blue Recognition—a platform that "highlight[s] the practices of exemplary faculty and staff who make invaluable contributions to the University"—are automatically nominated for the True Blue Awards. Cate was recognized by Carol Canzano-Hamala, Coordinator, Graduate Programs and Career Services, under the Innovation category, for "outstanding work keeping us connected to current students and new grads." Carol wrote:

"Thank you Cate for your innovative ideas and creative solutions to keep us connected with not only our current students, but also the group of June 2020 graduates. During this challenging time you have managed to celebrate the upcoming convocation ceremony with creative and thoughtful virtual engagement tools. You have also taken steps to ensure that new and current students are up-to-date on all the latest COVID-19 information. Thank you for all your work and continued efforts to engage our students by providing interesting and new ways to meet their needs and keep them connected."

Cate joined the CIRHR in 2015 as a library assistant and moved into the communications role in 2018. [In the interest of transparency, they are also the author of this piece].
