IDEA Project | Information and Experience-Sharing Session

When and Where

Friday, December 15, 2023 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
CIRHR Room 205
Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources

Description

The CIRHR, in partnership with the Inclusive Design for Employment Access (IDEA), welcomes Business Improvement Areas (BIA), their business members, as well as industrial relations and human resources (IR/HR) professionals to a HYBRID presentation on building capacity and harnessing potential labour and human talent of persons with disabilities in small business environments. In an inclusive setting, participants will share their experiences and best practices on employing people with disabilities to create the foundations of a community of practice. The session will also cover materials geared towards IR/HR professionals focused on including persons with disabilities in medium-sized business environments.

This presentation is part of larger and more elaborate research initiatives, including Hub teams, such as the CIRHR at the University of Toronto, which will co-design and pilot workplace solutions for use in the field, adjusting and scaling them up across Canada, as appropriate. The IDEA laboratory will focus on developing guidance and resources for workplace accessibility planning and reporting, job coaching and wrap-around supports, and smooth transitions of new labour-market entrants during the school-to-work transition.

Register Now to attend in-person or online. Please note that once the capacity for in-person accommodations is reached, you will be automatically enrolled for online attendance.

Inclusive Design for Employment Access (IDEA) is a social innovation laboratory that identifies, develops, evaluates, and disseminates tools and resources that address critical needs of organizations in their efforts to be inclusive workplaces.
