LERA provides a unique forum where professionals interested in all aspects of labor and employment relations to share ideas and learn about new developments, issues, and practices in the field. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, LERA will meet virtually this year. This format will open doors for those who have not been able to attend the Annual Meeting in person.
As part of the LERA annual meeting, the PhD Student Consortium offers learning and networking opportunities to PhD students in particular. In conjunction with LERA 72nd Annual Meeting, we will host the 22nd Annual PhD student consortium virtually this year on June 15th, 2020 (Monday) from 11:15 am to 1:30 pm (EST).
This year’s consortium will introduce the LERA annual meeting’s theme of sustainability. We invite Steven Greenhouse as our keynote speaker to share his views on the present and future of labor. With a particular focus on the needs of PhD students, we will offer a panel of young scholars who have valuable experience in job market searching and post-doc learning, to discuss trends within our own future of work as PhD students. Participants will have the opportunities to ask any questions and concerns they have.
You will have the opportunity to RSVP to the student consortium when you register for the LERA 72nd Annual Meeting. LERA has decreased the registration fee for students to only $45 this year. After the conference, students attending the consortium may be reimbursed all or a portion of the student rate depending on our fundraising. If you are already registered and would like to attend this consortium, please contact LERAoffice@illinois.edu so it can be added to your registration.
