CIRHR Instructor to Stand in the Federal Election

May 30, 2019 by CIRHR Communications

Congratulations to Laurel MacDowell, Professor Emeritus of history at the University of Toronto, who is running as the 2019 Federal NDP Candidate for Don Valley West. In her decision to run, she cites her concern over climate change as an environmental historian.

Professor MacDowell taught for many years in the MIRHR program and also delivered the Sefton Memorial Lecture (now known as the Sefton-Williams Memorial Lecture) in 1992. "Law and Labour in Ontario: The Career of J.L. Cohen" is available through the CIRHR Library's archive of Sefton-Williams Memorial Lecture materials.

Do you know of a member of the CIRHR community who is running in the upcoming federal election? Let us know at cirhr.communications@utoronto.ca
