Expert Panel on Modern Federal Labour Standards

Richard Dixon, CIRHR Alumni and Morley Gunderson Prize winner (2004), currently an Adjunct Professor at Queen’s University, is one of seven members of the Expert Panel on Modern Federal Labour Standards. This panel was announced last month by the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour to study, consult on and provide advice on and bring forward recommendations on: federal minimum wage; labour standards protections for non-standard workers; the "right to disconnect" outside of work hours; collective voice for non-unionized workers; and, access and portability of benefits.

Chaired by Sunil Johal, Policy Director at The Mowat Centre, the Expert Panel consists of:

  • Kathryn A. Raymond, Q.C.
  • W. Craig Riddell
  • Rosa B. Walker

The Expert Panel will be engaging and consulting with workers, employers, other experts, civil society groups and Canadians, especially those with experience in the federally regulated private sector.
